I would like to hear a real-life (suitably anonymised) example of how a youth worker/child protection worker in a church actually dealt with an incident. I have been to many training events and know the theory but feel I would freeze/react wrongly in a real situation.

Hi Mary,
We will cover that briefly but hopefully that has been fully covered in the child protection co-ordinator's training.
I think in quite a few churches the co-ordinator is not somebody directly involved in the day to day running of the children's activities which is where the knowledge gap may arise.
We'll pilot it in the Edinburgh Diocese in the next couple of months and if there is positive feedback, we'd be happy to pass the material to anybody in the Province who would find it useful.

May I also suggest adding something to do with what to do if a child discloses something to you?
